榆林
Yulin was called “Shangjun” in ancient times. It began in the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period and flourished during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It was a resident of Yansui Town (also known as Yulin Town), an important town on the nine borders of the late Ming Dynasty. The reputation of “the ancient city of Taichung on the north side of the South Tower and the famous street on the sixth floor” is such a peculiar urban construction, which is rare in this land of China. This is also an important symbol of Yulin becoming a national historical and cultural city.
Yulin, also known as Camel City, is a desert city and an important stronghold on the Silk Road since ancient times.
Yulin is located in the northernmost part of Shaanxi Province, China, at the junction of the Loess Plateau and the Mu Us Sandy Land. It is a transitional area between the Loess Plateau and the Inner Mongolia Plateau. It faces the Yellow River in the east and Shanxi Province across the river, Ningxia and Gansu in the west, Yan’an in the south, and Ordos in the north. It is the junction of the five provinces of Shaanxi, Gansu, Ning, Mongolia and Jin. It has jurisdiction over 2 districts, 1 county-level city and 9 counties, with a permanent population of 3.4178 million (2018).
Yulin is a national historical and cultural city, a national sanitary city, a Chinese caring city, a national new energy demonstration city, a national ecological protection and construction demonstration city, a top 100 competitive city in China, a world cultural heritage Great Wall and the first stop-Zhenbeitai. The ten most promising ancient cities in China-Yulin Ancient City, Hongshi Gorge, Tongwan City Ruins, Yulin Desert National Forest Park, Shimao Ruins, Xifeng Temple and other major attractions.
In December 2018, Yulin City was selected as a city with attractive cultural tourism development potential on the cultural tourism charm list of the “Charming China Town” in 2018.
榆林，古称“上郡”，始于春秋战国，兴于明清，明朝九边重镇“延绥镇“（又称榆林镇）驻地，康熙皇帝赐“两守孤城，千秋忠勇”刻碑，有“南塔北台中古城，六楼骑街天下名”的美誉，如此奇特城建，在神州大地实属罕见，这也是榆林成为国家历史文化名城重要标志。
榆林又名驼城，即沙漠之城，自古以来就是丝绸之路的重要驿站。
榆林位于中国陕西省的最北部，黄土高原和毛乌素沙地交界处，是黄土高原与内蒙古高原的过渡区。东临黄河与山西省隔河相望，西连宁夏、甘肃，南接延安，北与鄂尔多斯相连，系陕、甘、宁、蒙、晋五省区交界地，自古就是兵家必争之地。辖2个区、1个县级市、9个县，常住人口341.78万人（2018年）。
榆林是国家历史文化名城，国家卫生城市，中国爱心城市，国家新能源示范城市，国家生态保护与建设示范市，中国城市竞争力100强，拥有世界文化遗产万里长城，第一台—镇北台，中国最具潜力的十大古城—榆林古城，红石峡，统万城遗址，榆林沙漠国家森林公园，石峁遗址，西峰寺等各大景点。
2018年12月，榆林入选2018《魅力中国城》文化旅游魅力榜年度魅力文旅发展潜力城市。
